Q. What are subscription dues and how do they work?

A. Subscription dues are just like a magazine subscription. It gives you 365 days of membership in the VFW. The basic breakdown of what is going to happen is:

If you are an annual member and you pay your dues before Jan your expiration will be Jan 2015. If you pay after that date whatever day your dues are processed at National will be the new expiration date. Example would be that you send in your dues to National on 1 Feb 2020 and National processed them on the 15 Feb. Your new expiration date would be 15 Feb 2020.


Q. How much are Membership Dues & When are they due?


A. Annual membership Dues $40 and due on the anniversary of the date you joined the VFW or the date of annual renewal.

 


Q.

Where can separated/retired members find their medical records?



A. Medical records are maintained through the Department of Veterans Affairs Record Management Center in St. Louis, Missouri. They can be reached at1-888-533-4558. Q. How much does it cost to become a Life Member?

A.

Age as of December 31st

Through age 30 = $425

31 - 40 = $410
41 - 50 = $375
51 - 60 = $335
61 - 70 = $290
71 - 80 = $225
81 & over = $170

Q.

How do I access my entire personnel file once I retire and/or separate?



A.

Once a member separates and/or retires they can access their entire master personnel file (which includes DD Form 214's, NGB 22's and evaluation reports) without a CaC.

 Through a Department of Veterans Affairs website called eBenefits.

The website is https://www.ebenefits.va.gov.

First time users will need to register by clicking on the "Register" button. Please register for the PREMUIM account. Once the account is established, they will have continued access to the website to retrieve their master personnel file. The eBenefits help desk number is 1-800-983-0937, please contact them for further help/instructions. Why is this important to know? Because the Air Reserve Personnel Center (ARPC) does not provide members with documents out of their master personnel files; they are referred to eBenefits.
