This is a friendly reminder about the Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award Program.
Attached above are the Teacher Award Instruction Sheet and Entry Form that VFW Posts may use to help obtain nominations. The entry form should be forwarded, along with the required documentation, of each Posts winning submissions, one per category, if applicable, and forwarded on to their District for their judging, if applicable, prior to November 15. In the event your state does not have District judging, then the Post winning entries should be forwarded on to your Department Headquarters for judging by January 1, 2025.
Below is the Department Headquarters link for the "VFW Department Teacher Award Request Form” to electronically forward your winning teachers’ entry, one per category, by February 1, 2025. Once you have completed the Formstack form and downloaded the documentation received with their entry, please hit submit and it will be forwarded to National Headquarters to be entered into our Teacher Award judging. Please note, you will complete this procedure for each Department winner!
